GOLDEN GUIDELINES
for Mrs. Smith’s class
Teachers have a right to teach.
Students have a right to learn.
Therefore, we agree to:
treat
fellow-students and teachers as we ourselves would like to be treated.
be
on time, prepared to work and stay on task.
have
no unauthorized food, gum, or drink.
If you are caught chewing gum or having an open drink in class more
than one time each 9 weeks, you will get a lower conduct grade.
* All students must have a three-ring binder at least one
inch thick with filler paper and a folder inside.
All work must be labelled and dated.
This notebook will be checked periodically.
If you do not bring it to class, you will get a zero.
If
you are using a spiral notebook during class, it will be taken up and kept until
the last day of the semester. Spiral
notebooks will be given a grade of zero, as will any work turned in on paper
from a spiral notebook. Your
daily work will count for as much as half of your 9 weeks grade.
You can’t afford to be lazy. I
grade on a point scale and I will be assigning a participation grade in my
Spanish classes.
** Make-up work is
your responsibility. Assignments
or tests which you knew would be due on the day of your absence must be made up
on the day of your return (unless excused by me). After
this, you will get a zero and, remember, it is not my responsibility to remind
you to do make-up work. With STI
home you have access to all lesson plans and assignments.
You may also call me or a fellow student.
Remember that make-up work is your responsibility, and if you get a zero
it is your fault
*** Anyone who is tardy will be the last to leave when
classed is dismissed. Three
tardies will result in a U in conduct.
****We will pass papers to the front of the class in the
following manner. Wait until you receive the papers from behind you, put yours on top
of the stack, and continue to pass the stack forward.
*****CLASS
WILL BE DISMISSED BY ME, NOT THE
******Math Students: You
must do all math classwork and homework with a pencil on loose-leaf paper.
Bring a pencil to class. I
will not supply pencils. You
will receive a zero for work that is done with anything other than a pencil.
******See your handbook for further classroom policies.
See STI Home for current assignments.
