Reading:
Listen to your child read every night. Each child comes home with a
reading packet. Let your child read each page to you each
night. The more practice they have the better they will read. Make
sure they are reading smoothly and not choppy.
Spelling: Every week your child will have twelve
spelling words to study. The spelling test will be on Friday.
Ask your child to practice spelling the spelling word for you out loud or
writing the words down. Your child
will also need to complete a spelling worksheet attached to their homework
packet.
Language: Each week we will study a language
skill. We will complete workbook
pages on the skill together. If your
child pays attention they will make a great grade. We also have daily fix its
we go over everyday and on Friday we have a daily fix it test. Daily Fix its are
sentences that have mistakes and we correct them together.
Math: Each day check your child's folder for
their math sheet. We will complete side A of our math sheet in class
together. Side B of the math sheet needs to be completed at
home. Students should also study math facts. Students should be
currently studying their double facts.
